Our son want to participate in the formula one racing anywhere in the world. He is just 12 years old. We would like to know the minimum age in the world for these racing.
First he’ll have to start a career in KART racing, though not strictly necessary.
When he’s 16 he’ll be old enough to start Car racing in Single Seaters (compared to 17/18 to drive on the road, at least as far as UK laws go)………… in a series such as FORMULA FORD, etc.
But before he can do that, he’ll have to apply for a RACING LICENSE (which means going to a racing school + also having a medical).
After Formula Ford (or similar) the next route of progression is usually FORMULA 3… if he comes 1st or 2nd in the Championship (particularly a top one like the British F3 championship) he’ll qualify for a SUPER RACING LICENCE which entitles him to race in Formula1 (if he can get a drive) + there’s usually a prize of a test session in an F1 car.
After Formula3, the Drivers then traditionally progress further up the career ladder to GP2 (or "Formula 2" or "F3000"). If he completes a full season of that (without any mishaps that result in a ticking off from the race officials), he’ll then qualify for the SUPER LICENCE needed to race in FORMULA1.

first he has to KNOW how to race in a car…they usually start out in gokarts and work up from there…you just don’t get in a race car one day and race…References :
It’s not so much the age but the skill.
I don’t think anyone would insure or sponsor someone so young either.

I can guarantee you your 12 year old son will never race in Formula 1.
It’s more skill than age. But I believe the minimum age is 17.
As formula 1 is the highest form of motorsport, if he wants to race in it, your going to need to bribe one of the teams with at least £5million.References :
He needs to jump into a kart and start racing from there.. once he has won a few championships he may be spotted and get a few sponsors then from there he will enter the junior formulae such as formula ford or renault and then from there maybe to world series by renault and then onto gp2 or the new gp2 feeder series gp3 and if he does well in gp2 he might not get picked for formula one so there is no promise he’ll get into formula one. However I can tell you now that he will not get into formula one at the age of 12.. plus its about skill.. he needs a lot of it…
